This is exactly why this ummah is splitted into groups! Even sunnis are splitted into madhabs! Why? Because of some respected scholars! Why were they able at their time to interprete verses in the Quran? Why can‘t we do it today? Instead, it is absolutely forbidden to try to understand the Quran by myself. I am only allowed to accept what a scholar 700 years ago said in his tafseer. You are not even allowed to question the seriousity of hadith even they are so called „sahih“. This is not what the prophet (pbuh) meant, when he said seek knowledge!

How can you say you should follow a madhab when you should follow the prophet of Allah nowhere in Quran or sunnah if says folllow a madhab where even if the imam was in error you still follow the error
